Our Ministries
Atlanta, Georgia
The Handmaids of the Sacred Heart of Jesus serve the people of God in the Hispanic and Anglo communities in three parishes of the Archdiocese of Atlanta, Georgia. Sisters reach out to all they encounter, organizing religious education programs for children and adults, assisting poor families in their various needs, fostering the process of inculturation, and engaging in spiritual conversation and guidance, besides collaboratively supporting all other parish ministries.
The Sisters also offer Discernment Programs at the Atlanta ACJ Convent to women ages 18-35 who are considering consecrated life and would like to know more about the Handmaids of the Sacred Heart of Jesus. "Come and See" opportunities (for several days or a month) of shared prayer, reflection, fellowship, and the experience of joyful life in the Handmaid community are offered.
The “Upper Room” facility of the convent is available to groups who would like to conduct a retreat meeting. The ACJ Associates convene monthly for dinner, meeting and prayer.
